Introducing InHouse Dental: A Different Approach to Dental Membership Plans
Your practice. Your plans. Your patients. Your payments.
For years, UK dental practices have relied on external membership plan providers to manage their patient membership schemes.
What if dental practices could manage their own membership plans, set their own prices, maintain direct relationships with their patients?
That’s the thinking behind InHouse Dental.
Built by a dental practice, for dental practices
InHouse Dental wasn’t created by a software company looking for a new market.
It was born from the everyday experience of running a busy independent dental practice.
At our dental practice in Widnes, Cheshire, we had spent years using an established dental membership provider. Like many practices, we valued the predictable income and patient loyalty that membership plans offered.
But we increasingly questioned why managing our own membership plans needed to involve an external administrator.
We wanted more control over our pricing, plan benefits and patient relationships. We wanted clearer visibility of our membership income and performance. And we wanted the freedom to make changes to our plans without depending on somebody else’s processes.
Rather than simply changing providers, we decided to build the system we wanted ourselves.
InHouse Dental was the result.
What is InHouse Dental?
InHouse Dental is a UK membership management platform that gives dental practices the tools to create, manage and administer their own patient membership plans.
Unlike a traditional dental plan administrator, InHouse provides the software while your practice remains in control of its plans, pricing and patient relationships.
Create membership plans that suit your practice
Not every dental practice operates in the same way, so why should every practice be restricted to the same membership structure?
With InHouse Dental, practices can create their own membership plans, set monthly prices and define the benefits included.
Whether you offer a straightforward examination and hygiene plan or a range of membership options, you decide what works for your patients and your business.
Keep control of patient payments
Patient membership payments are collected through GoCardless using your practice’s own account.
That means membership revenue is paid directly to your practice, with applicable GoCardless processing fees deducted.
InHouse Dental does not collect or hold your patients’ membership funds.
Manage memberships and households
Patients can be added individually or imported from an existing provider.
The platform also supports household memberships, allowing family members to be managed together with a combined monthly Direct Debit payment.
See what's happening across your membership base
Membership income is an important part of running a sustainable private dental practice.
InHouse Dental provides a central dashboard where practices can monitor memberships, payment activity and changes across their patient base.
Instead of relying on periodic reports, your team has direct access to the information needed to manage your membership schemes.
How is InHouse Dental different from a traditional plan provider?
Traditional dental plan providers typically manage membership schemes on behalf of practices. InHouse Dental takes a different approach.
InHouse Dental provides the software that allows you to manage your own membership plans, your way.
You create your plans, set your prices, decide what benefits to include and make changes whenever your practice needs to. You have direct access to your membership information, payments and reporting, all in one place.
Rather than relying on an external provider to administer your membership scheme, you have the tools to manage it yourself, with the flexibility to run it in a way that works for your practice.
And with a transparent pricing structure, taking control of your memberships could also mean reducing your costs.
Can you switch from an existing dental membership provider?
Yes. Practices already using a membership provider can move to an in-house membership model.
Changing providers requires planning, particularly when communicating with existing members and arranging new Direct Debit mandates.
InHouse Dental supports importing patient information and inviting patients to set up their new payment arrangements.
We also provide onboarding guidance to help practices manage the transition.
And because we’ve undertaken this process at our own dental practice, we understand the practical questions and challenges involved.
Ready to manage your membership plans, your way?
